As noted by other posters MS specifically disabled the ability to double-click to rn ps, by directly associating those with NOtepad exe You can change that, but it is not advised, especially globally in an enterprise If you are just trying to edit a file from a right click The Q D (quick and dirty) option is just add a properly configured shortcut to your 'SendTo' menu and use that

The answer is to ditch any modification to the 'Open With' item and set it back to the default of Notepad This will bring back the 'Run with PowerShell' context menu item Furthermore, you can modify the default Open Command in the registry if you really want to open PowerShell scripts with something other than Notepad
