for some odd reason, I am having problems with my Cubase 5 detecting Omnisphere and Trillian vst's when I go into program files and into the Steinberg folder, there is a folder named Cubase 5 and one below named VstPlugIns in that folder is where I have my list of vst's from kontakt

You need to open Cubase, select Studio->Studio Setup->VST Audio System Check that the driver selected is the correct one for the io2 and is an ASIO driver Can you play back audio normally from a Cubase track through the io2? Make sure that you have the input bus setup correctly for the mic in the Studio->Audio Connections menu
