If you click on the dashed line type in the stroke palette and open the style palette, you can save the dashed line as a style without making any edits to it, and, magically, the boxes to enter the spaces appear at the bottom of the stroke palette You should not need to save the dashed line as a style Nothing has changed since years about this

As you see below, I have three lines to which I've applied a gradient after making them compound paths It works find for the bottom, solid line example But for the dashed line, the gradient is applied to each segment indepently How do I get dash lines to work the same way?

Your approach doesn't work for me, Andy Expanding the dashed strokes always produces separate filled paths, not separate stroked paths They do look like stroked lines, but they aren't What am I missing?

Greetings, I'm able to make dashed lines using the Stroke panel, but how to you just load or save a dashed style, if possible? I'm looking for something similar to the built in dashed line option in InDesign Thanks for you help on this
