OK here is an engineering question that I have been tossing around in my head for a while now When you are bedding a rifle do you want to match the CTE (Coefficient of Thermal Expansion) between the bedding compound (epoxy) and the CTE of the action or the CTE of the stock?

Re: Stock bedding compound choices? From what I understand, Devcon actually makes Steel Bed for Brownells That said, Steel Bed, Devcon, or Marine Tex; it's tough to go wrong with one of those as your bedding compound of choice

The most available common are Devcon 10110 Acraglass Marine Tex I use devcon but that little jar will dry out if you only do one stock a year which makes it one of the more expensive options but its pretty thick and easy to handle Marine tex has the lowest shrinkage rate among them but it a bit more liquid and harder to keep from flowing Arcaglass is probably what Ill try next if my devcon
