That's because at L18 and above managers get T20 drivers from their academy Why would they hire a driver from the market at a wage of £1m+ per race when they can get one from their academy and pay them only £35 0k? This is a saving of approx £14m over a 20 race season Edit Missed an important zero out of the academy driver wage
