Yes, I've read about the hardware support, but it only supports a small number of encoders I also tried the example by dyhlands, but it did not seem to work as reliable as my approach Also, I want scaling and min max bounds of the counter (with or without wrap-around), which is easier, if I maintain the counter myself
- nrf52: external file system - MicroPython Forum (Archive)
Are external file systems (i e on an attached flash chip) supported for the nrf52? The on-chip flash is only 1MBytes that are shared between the interpreter and user files An external file system would leave more space for the interpreter

Will micropython use bytecode pyc files if it cannot find the py file? That at least would be significantly faster for me to make and test changes - but would this make much difference to these shortage of memory errors? (I am guessing that compiling it into the bin will make the greatest difference because that is in flash

I've been able to run the MicroPython SAMD port on a Trinket M0 and an Itsy Bitsy M4 But, to be clear, at this stage it's a bare-bones port - nothing really works except the MicroPython interpreter, UART and the REPL
