Managed to get this fixed - the only solution is abandoning the locked disabled account and re-registering the device with new different apple id This required resetting the device by making a request to have the activation lock removed with apple The request required the original receipt including the device serial number

Hello, Since updating to iOS 26 2 1, my iPhone has effectively become unusable The update now requires approximately 30GB of free storage, and despite deleting apps and files repeatedly, the issue persists Almost all of my apps crash, freeze, or become completely unresponsive The only temporary workaround is rebooting the phone, but the same problems return within 10 minutes This cycle
