Anyone got any tips for someone taking a week (after leaving las vegas where spending 4 days inc a visit to Grand Canyon and Hoover Dam) to do the above trip - plan is to drive from Las Vegas to Yosemite then across to the coast to take in places like Hearst Castle, Big Sur, Monterey etc and spend 3 days in San Francisco before flying home

If you could spend 2 nights near Grand canyon you could head to Monument valley, stay at the Cameron Trading post overnight and then enter the Grand canyon through east entrance, seeing all the sights along Desertview drive, village area and Hermits rest and then stop in Williams night two

I have seen that you can take some tours from Las Vegas to Grand Canyon, so I am considering this option to save kilometers I have seen one-day-tours from Las Vegas in plane, helycopter and boat in Grand Canyon (West Rim)
