To me, the Unova starters are the best of the best, right up there with the Hoenn starters They all look badass, are full of personality, and the middle stages aren't as ugly as they tend to be with other Pokémon!

Venusaur for Kanto, Swampert for Hoenn, Emboar for Unova Their typings and movepool have the best matchups against the Gym Leaders and Elite 4 in their regions This is strictly on a PvE basis, for PVP Competitive as MSA says you'll be able to get the other starters during your journey and will need to be breeding your way to the top anyway so your original starter won't really factor in
