Penzance is a great base for exploring the west of Cornwall Truro is a good place for exploring central and further eastern Cornwall, and nearby Falmouth is a great place to stay too From Exeter it would take an hour’s drive just to get to Plymouth and the bridge crossing to Cornwall, so rule that out
