- car rental – declining CDW - Rick Steves Travel Forum
Read your credit card wordings Mine says that if CDW cannot be declined, the credit card will still cover any deductible that I may be required to pay Does your home auto insurance have rental car coverage? If so, some credit card wordings say that the cc coverage is secondary to that home auto primary coverage People get so stressed over rental car insurance and end up paying for double
- CDW for car rental in Italy - Rick Steves Travel Forum
Basic CDW is mandatory in Italy and is built into the rental price But when I last checked, the price of renting a car in Italy with the mandatory CDW was not much more (and may even be cheaper) than renting the same car for the same time without the CDW in another country

- CDW Car Insurance for Car Rentals in Ireland - Exclusions Fine Print . . .
But, if you purchase any CDW insurance in whole or in part from the car rental Company, your AmEX coverage is completely VOID For AmEx you MUST decline Car Rental Company CDW insurance You can also purchase AMEX supplemental car insurance on a per individual rental basis $19 95-24 95 (entire rental period not per day)
- AMEX Premium Car Rental protection in Europe vs. CDW
I've always used the rental company's CDW in Europe - I don't want any hassles if we have an issue For an upcoming trip this CDW will add $28 per day I have an AMEX card and they advertise their Premiun Car Rental protection for $24 95 (total, not per day) It covers rentals up to 30 days It sounds like a great alternative to the rental company's CDW Have you ever purchased the AMEX
- Italian Car Rental Insurance - Rick Steves Travel Forum
Looks like buying the CDW coverage from the rental car company may actually arguably void a credit card's coverage So, what about liability coverage to third parties? Am I right that the registered owner of the vehicle in the EU (incl Italy) MUST have liability coverage and that such coverage is necesarily included when you rent a car?
