- GRRRRRRRRRR! These Blasted Kill Pen Sellers - The Horse Forum
The horses that ride, are sold for high prices, and the unbroken, untouched, wild horses are the ones that ship to slaughter That nice horse the OP is looking at is a horse they are hoping to make lots of money on
- pressure treated wood or not? - The Horse Forum
My horses are not beavers, never have been and I do not have any nibble spots after more than a dozen years of used The amount of wood a horse would need to chew and ingest would be a large amount I would be much more concerned the animals chewing on trees and plants inside their enclosure to present problems than fence chewing
- How to buy direct from the Amish - The Horse Forum
Hi everyone, I am trying to find out how to purchase a horse directly from the Amish I purchased a retired horse from the Amish thru Texas slaughter auction but instead of adding that stress to a horse, buying directly from the Amish would be preferable to me I am in California and understand
- Coyotes - The Horse Forum
While coyotes don't generally bother horses, some animals are more aggressive, and some will take advantage of a young old injured or isolated animal Easiest is if a male human can discreetly urinate in a couple spots around a paddock It doesn't have to be daily, or a solid line, just every week or two
- Leasing my land for someone to keep horses on? - The Horse Forum
I have been approached by a neighbor to lease some land to him to keep 4-5 horses on The fenced portion of the land is about 6 acres and has a metal barn with 4 stalls, running water, electricity, tack room, and wash bay From what we have talked about so far he would be responsible for taking care of the horses completely
- Colic treatment to keep on hand? - The Horse Forum
I try to keep banamine on hand if the vet will give it They don't like to just give it to you for healthy horses Silly me, I thought the whiskey was to calm down the frantic horse owner 😂 ClearDonkey Acadianartist gottatrot Save Share Like L lb27312 1,564 posts · Joined 2018 #27 ·Dec 28, 2022
- I have basically no experience with horses- Is it possible for me to . . .
I know its probably more realistic to wait until after I graduate, but I feel like if a horse based career is possible for me, I need to start getting experience ASAP 1-2 lessons a month is better than nothing, but it is nowhere near enough to get me prepared for a horse career
- Boarding a friends horse, whats fair to charge? - The Horse Forum
I pasture board my horses at a friend's place for $100 month-- they provide hay (right now the horses are all on pasture 24 7) and they catch each horse at least once a day and groom and feed them I provide the grain I want my horse fed, and also take care of his deworming, vaccinations, hoofcare, etc
- Horse diaper reviews - The Horse Forum
The trail horses that ride the city parks do not have diapers and to my knowledge are not "trained" by the street appearance We are referring to 30 - 50 horses daily, several times a day that walk that street road not a solitary animal occasionally
- Horse Boarding Rates? - The Horse Forum
A friend near Omaha that I emailed said her horse is at a barn with trails, access to trails, indoor and outdoor, AC in the barn (?), over 100 acres of prime pasture and access to professional trainers - she pays $600 a month There are a large number of horses boarded there In her area thats not uncommon for premium facilities
